OVER TIME
Over Time
Jacky Lakrichi
I was born from an ember, from a burst of light
I came from a breath, a shiver in the air
In a mother's arms, in a father's shadow
A small heartbeat in an ephemeral world
And then over time
I ran in the grass, I danced in the rain
Skinned knees, bursting laughter
Bedtime stories, monsters under the bed
Dreams of adventure, burning suns
And time carries me away, river or ocean
Each moment fades, is slowly reborn
I burn, I exult, I defy time
I weave my path, an incandescent thread
And then over time
Hearts that capsize, fleeing glances
The soul lost under the crackling rain
First loves, shivers under the skin
The promises we make, the oaths too beautiful
And then...
The roads open and the dawn calls me
A bag on my back, a thousand lights under my wings
Nights of carelessness, Vertigo of time
Nights without sleep, running with the wind
And time carries me away, river or ocean
Each moment fades, is reborn gently
I burn, I exult, I defy time
I weave my path, an incandescent thread
Let them say of me, to the wind, to the stars
Let them say of me, in the depths of the night
That they will remember my refrains
That over time I have loved endlessly
That over time you have loved endlessly
And then...
A child's laugh like a shooting star
And in my arms a vibrant life
The laughter of a child who learns to understand
A home that burns with a tender light
And then...
The storms left on the shores of the past
The still warm ashes of those we loved
The murmured goodbyes, the deep absences
But always this fire that lights up the world
Let them say of me, to the wind, to the stars
Let them say of me, in the depths of the night
That they will remember my refrains
That over time I have loved endlessly
That over time you have loved endlessly
And then...
